The colours of the clay are natural, they are not coloured, the clay is a special artist clay made here in Italy.  It is a stony clay, a fireclay, which is a mixture fired crushed clay and normal clay, which makes          it particularly break resistant. The sculptures are fired in Impruneta, at the MITAL artistic terracotta works, not far from my house. They are in the furnace for a week, during which time the temperature slowly rises and falls, reaching a temperature of over 1000 C
